 Avid Music Fan

Yeah...that's me all over as if you didn't already know. Music has healed me, saved me, given reason to live, given me reason to give, and I can keep my hat on.

I'm headed out on Sunday Rounds. Music will fill the gaps as I travel & hopefully, strengthen my resolve to share a good day with those I encounter. This is never easy, but music...well, it fills in the gaps. I thrive on it. I love Bubba, but ,like blogging, he just does not get it. So Sir Paul, The Eagles, The Dead, even James T, has to be off'd when he is home. I'd like to chalk it all up to tinnitus from 30 yrs in a loud factory, but there is more to it. Or less. He just gets irritated with it. So, it is mine, on my own time, and the two of us still have great times together...watching DVD's & videos throughout the rainy Saturday...it was nice. We both had head bangers with the thunderstorms, and we both got over it. He makes me laugh. He is so funny...and smart. Ahh...but music makes him short tempered, while it sets my spirit soaring. Funny, funky world, funny, funky, life.

CBS Sunday Morning did a great gig on Steve Winwood this AM...I wonder whatever happened to my Traffic album? All my albums, for that matter...spent lots of the big buck$ there, and nada down the line to show for it, excepting some wonderful, golden memories. I hope that I can continue to remember them on down my life's long & winding road. Looking at my folks, and the distant past that they now dwell in...I hope I have provided myself with enough musical enlightenment to keep me happily entertained once I start living in the past...

What is her last name? The African American woman, Nancy Something who does commentary on CBS SUnday Morning...Nancy...??? well, she has it goin on in my book. She was "downright uncomfortable" with "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp", getting that Hollywood Academy Award last week. I didn't watch it, but she showed some clips, with gangsta & hooker-like dancers rapping the tune...and then talked about the big step backward the song was for her people. For all people. How can it compare the Sidney Portier & all he did to show an intelligent, moral, ethical role model for the generations to come? How did we come to this? It's like we are living in those underground comic books I used to buy & read in my late 20's, early 30's...post end-of-the-world society that wasn't. It's here already. I will never apologize for my enthusiasm for what I call good music...I will remain, always, in it's pursuit. It is my haven, and my Heaven on earth. And so it goes. And so I am on gone. Too emotionally drained & short on time to blog post-rounds, so I will catch ya later when I get to it. And not before.

 OH! THIS IS FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!

how could I let Sir Paul just sit beside the DVD player and not open this GEM for two weeks! Yes(Yes!) The Eagles are great...but this Sir Paul in Red Square!!!!!

Last nite, I could not stop blogging...I was a maniac with the Eagles blasting in the back ground...now...this morning...Sir Paul rocking Red Square is literally knocking my sox off!! OMG! they are suggesting The Beatles were instrumental of the downfall of the Soviet Union...and hook, line & sinker, I am falling for it! Of course! Can you imagine what life would have been like without The Beatles? That you had to go to the black market to get Beatle's vynil & you gave up 1/2 a month's salary to score? And they like, took old x-rays & actually coaxed the x-rays into somewhow producing Beatle's tunes...like primative x-ray down loading!!! The concept being that The Beatles werwe the forbidden fruit in Russia, and once the people heard the boys it OPENED NEW WORLDS to them, allowing them to realize there wss a separate reality...another world of freedom & rock n' roll. Can you imagine the reception Paul got in RED SQUARE singing "Back In the" "U.S.S.R.?" Little Russian kids 3 and 4 years old singing along with Paul in English...folks my age with tears in their eyes, rapt joy all over their faces...a Russian Boy's choir singing "Yesterday"...kids playing piano & gutair for Paul & him talking through a translator inspiring the kids, the audience overwhelmingly crazy & enthusiastic & crying & enraptured, literally a dream come true for generations of people...the magic, the unifying abilities that music holds for us all...I remember telling my sister about Carlos Santana in Russia saying that we could achieve"Peace Through Music", & my sis says "Yeah..good luck with that," truthfully & cynically...now, looking @ Paul & the reception he & his music got when he & Heather visted...and their meeting with Vladimier Putin, talking about Russia joining in the efforts to ban land-mines world wide...Vladimier showing up @ the show with KGB bodygurds unexpectedly & people crying with joy...seeing the Prsdident of Russia walking with Paul and Heather, thanking Paul for bringing a breath of fresh air... tey know all the English words to "Hey Jude", and they are crying, exhaulted, singing along...oh this is MAGICAL...I will be watching this over & over & over again so many times!! The whole audience chanting in unison...nah,nah,nah,nah,na-na-na-na Hey Jude!...just the guys, now...ok just the girls! na-na-na-na, Hey Jude! OMG this is so precious, delicious, inspirational...my heart is singing the chorus of "Hey Jude!" AND THE HAPPY-HAPPY JOY-JOY of music crossing borders and toppeling politics...you discover & re-discover thoughts & feelings from the last 30 years of listening to the same CLASSIC Beatles songs. Do you get the idea that I am digging this?..."something inside that was always denied for so many years...she's leaving home after living alone for so many years..."

I've got to get back to giving this my undivided attention for as many times as I can get away with it. and ya' know, I hear Yoko is still dissing Paul after all these years, and if we can't all get along, couldn't we at least lighten up?

Why did I think Scratch was having a party?

why did I invite so many Streamers over to Scratch's for a party, while the party was @ erotic Dontz's all along? Along with Scratchola... & I missed it...almost the story of my life, but then again, I have so many stories...

Bubba's mom is fine...she just wanted some attention...the folks are so child-like, always craving attention...more of that full circle biz-buzz. No DVD movie-watching together...no Paul McCartney DVD, cuz I decided to save it for first thing in the morning along with my coffee, oatmeal, and yogurt, and like Maude says"Greet the dawn with a breath of fire!
"No drinking, no trespassing, no rules, no right , no wrong,no phone, no lights, no motor-cars, no Dave-Dave's not here, no party, no foolin',no more boogie-woogie music, no woogie the mighty & powerful Cat, (he's @ Prank's Palace) & no more blogging tonite, cuz I love Bubba madly, and that country boy is home & ready to crash, and I don't party much any more anyway. But I don't watch any game shows. NO GAME SHOWS...Just"Earl"&"House". You know what would make a grat show? "Earl Meets House"...COUNTRY BOY IS CRASHING & IN THE INTEREST OF TRUTH, JUSTICE & THE AMERICAN WAY...I had better crash, too.

FIVE FUNKY FAX FOR FREE FOR FRIDAY FREE

1) The Stream is a powerful addiction no matter where I hang...I have been trying to write my Funky 5 for almost 4 hours now, & I can't stop surfing to settle in & make up much of anything for my own Friday contribution. This is one addiction I don't want to kick!

2)I plan to go to Scratch's tonight & into the morrow, as I read he was willing to host a party. He knows lots of chicks are gonna come party & we are, you develish man, you, Scratchola!

3)I am such a dweeb! I screwed up the sound (again) on my computer & everything sounds like a bad movie's impression of what it is like to feel/hear psychedelia...and Petey sent me some Stones tunes & I so wanna get it right."And The Rain Fell Down..." I gotta work on that when I'm not @ Scratch's party...tonight & tomorrow...

4) I'm scared. I'm very scared. Bubba & I were going to watch DVD's tonite, but he just came back to the bedroom & told me the date was off, cuz he has his "game show" on tonight. He has become a regular viewer of "Deal or No Deal", and I've only heard the noise of it from the bedroom, where I am regularly surfing & blogging( and not in the slightest interested in it)...he just came back & told me that now, he has to go to his Mom's as her "throat is swelling up"(this is her 3rd call to his cell) & she has allergies to just about everything. He says he better go check on her, besideswhich, he can't find his show as it looks to be pre-empted by...MORE BASKETBALL. I really wish we liked basketball...we'd enjoy this March Madness trip, but we don't, so we won't. We prob think with the wrong side of our brain or something. But this game show thing is scary...my Mom & Step-Dad were addicted to game shows, and I fear we have truly reached the middle-ages, when we start referring to them as "I can't miss my shows", and "Not tonight, Honey, my show is on."

5) Bubba is out de door & down de road...so, I better turn up the Rock n' Roll while I can...Dead or Eagles? George? John? Heck ! I still have not opened Sir Paul's-it better be his. I best put on my best illegal smile, find that chocolate, and get down with my bad self before my beloved returns, & I have to put my ya-ya's back in their proper low-profile places in the interest of keeping the peace & keeping my love.

Hope to see y'all @ Scratch's & around the Stream. This is the LIFE!
